Avoiding the Common Cold

September 18th, 2007 Sammy

With fall approaching, cold season will come sooner than we like but there is a way to defend ourselves against getting the common cold repeatedly throughout the season. Of course washing our hands and teaching our little ones healthy habits of washing up after eating and using the bathroom are common sense. What might not be common sense is what you should wash your hands with.

If you want to avoid getting common colds don’t use anti-bacterial hand soaps. Anti-bacterial hand soaps only cause bacteria and viruses to mutate into stronger strains which then creates another cold because the immune system has to learn to defend against this new strain. Anti-bacterial soaps also make it more difficult for the medical community to keep up with creating antibiotics that will kill bacteria.

In the end, we can end up using antibiotics that really aren’t working and doing our bodies a disservice.

Now What?
